Title: Dynthor
Description: Want's back in the guild

Jemene - May 9, 2005 11:27 AM (GMT)
Was talking to Dynthor last night and he was mention about Aris and a few others in the guild he is in comming to us. Well those people he considers friends of his and wants to be with them in the same guild and would like to come back to us if he can.

Now the problem here is some of you had issues with Dynthor on how he seem to be a me me me me person. For others he harrassed and at times, didn't want to join the guild in a raid where we could of used his help. Some have told me he has embarrassed the guild with in chat. Some he left a sour taste to you when he just got up and left with out saying anything.

But some of you have said good things about him. Felt that he has helped you and not the me me me type. Don't see him complain at all and think he is a good guy and never had a problem with him.

But I need your opinion as a whole guild that been with him and know him from pass guild expierence. Some of you still group with him at times.

Do you think I should let Dynthor back into the guild and give him a 2nd chance? Maybe he has change from the side we saw from him. I believe in giving people a 2nd chance personally, but want to hear from you guys as it pertains to you as a guild member with in us.

Please cast your votes and give any opinions you may have on Dynthor.

Thank You,
Jemene

I honestly don't care for people that jump from one guild to another. Then expect to come back to the guild they left with no strings attached. If he does come back I would put him on a 3 month probationary period. Any mishaps during that time and he is out of the guild no questions asked.

I have been discouraged ingame before. We all have at some time. Sometimes we vent to friends. Sometimes we say things we dont mean. This guy, however, had issues. Two things in particular I cant see getting around:

1. The insistance that Haylen and our group were at the zone-in area in CT and had left him when we had been doing xp and the ring event for hours, coupled with his tenacity in arguing the point in guildchat when we tried to explain it to him.

2. The comment on another night over some issue where he couldnt get what he wants -and I quote- "Now I see why Nopax left the guild."

As far as I am concerned, he can join Monolith and as I see Nopax LFG all the time, he can group with him.

Phedrey - May 9, 2005 04:58 PM (GMT)
I saw nothing but negativity in his public communications. While grouping with him, he seemed to have his own agenda with little regard for what other people needed. Basically, I found him offensive at best.

I think the guild has been better off for his leaving... just my opinion.

Now that this thread sat a few days after being hijacked, did we ever come to any resolution?

Isard - May 11, 2005 02:49 PM (GMT)
yes we need closure

Gilean - May 11, 2005 06:30 PM (GMT)
Okay you want closure huh?

The movie was Anchorman starring Will Ferrel.

The quote was during the scene where Christina Applegate gets the anchor job. All the current news men are in the bosses office yelling at him when the dopey weather man runs up to the desk and yells my quote then walks away.

If you have not seen it see it soon got it good.

As funny here as it was in the movie...

Just a different perspective here, I've never had a problem with Dynthor, and I enjoy grouping with him - he's getting to be a better and better tank, and I think that at some point, he's going to grow into a very good MT or MA. Yes, he needs to step back and think sometimes, but he's not 50 yet, either, so there's development potential there if he's willing to listen, which I think he is.

I've grouped with him off and on since before he was in Tempest, and I've never had an issue. When I've grouped with him, asks what others need in terms of mobs and handy quest bits, and has been good about making sure others get nearby quests that would help them with mobs in the area where we're killing.

I didn't hear of any problems with him in Entropy, so I would be fine with his return. That said, I totally understand that he may have gone through a maturing phase and/or left under a cloud, and I can understand the desire to place restrictions on the return of someone who left the guild.

Again, it's just my two copper, and is offered as a counterpoint and different perspective, not to negate others' perceptions. =-)

funny gilean  Im too the point kinda dont care either way now. As long as he doesnt repeat from the past. is all otherwise let him in i guess

Zaneta - May 12, 2005 11:44 AM (GMT)
K here are my thoughts on the subject. We need to think of a couple of things if we decide to let him back in.
1. If a large majority of our guild doesn't really care for him, will he have people to group with? We are all human and even our best attempts to be nice and forgiving don't always work. Little things that he may do will really upset some people because they already dislike him.
2. Giving people chances and helping others out are very important traits to our guild. Probation periods are common in guilds today and not a bad way to go either.
3. What do his friends in the guild that he groups with have to say about him? Aris and whoever it was that he mentioned.

I don't know alot about him myself. Yes, I was on the night he was blowing comments like "now I know why Nopax left." Maybe he has acted this way a lot, maybe not. Maybe he can change if called on it. I think as a guild we should give a 2nd chance with restrictions and explain why. If no one calls him on his behavior he won't change it.

Just my two coppers worth.

As of last night Dynthor won't be comming back to the guild as long as I am leader or Haylen. I was going to give the guy a 2nd chance and I felt it was fair to hear others opinions. But after last night, no way.

Sorry to say but I feel Dynthor hasn't changed at all after last night. He kept sending me tells wonder what people had problems with him and I refused to say cause I really isn't my place to say who had problems with him. So it came down pretty much where he felt I was making it all up and prob felt I was a lier.

I told him what does it matter what people had problems with him? Does it really matter? But he was on the ajenda to find out as it really seem to bother him. My self, I do not care what others think about me. If you like me, cool, if you don't sorry. But I am not going to complain and cry about it over people I will never see in my life. I have other issues in my life to worry about than dramma over in a game. I have been on the net for over 10+ years and many people I have known have come and go, it's the way it is.

But last night, I just looked at Dynthor more as a whiner. Those that had an issue with him, he said, Have those people Man Up and tell me what their deal is. But you know what, it isn't going to solve anything I feel. If you were one that had an issue with him, feel free to say it to him as he wants to know. He is looking at you as pussies for not saying anything to him.

Dynthor has been in 3 guilds. He has been in Heroes of Truth, Tempest, Order of Entropy and now is Guildless. One we know in HoT said the SAME thing about Dynthor as those who had issues with him here. If Hayen wants to, he can tell that story as it is very very interesting.

Dynthor mention he may join one of our Alliance guild so he can be around Aris. I told him I doubt Stone Dogs will take him cause they felt the same thing. He called me a lier on this as he said Uglak had no idea what I was talking about untill I refresh him memory. SD as a guild may not have a problem with him but some may have. Either way, Uglak told him he wont take him into the guild cause he is a Guild Hopper. Being in at least 3 guilds may consider this and Dynthor felt jumping from 3 guilds didn't consider himself a guild hopper. Uglak responce to that was, I been in the same guild for 5 years. So Uglak doesn't look at Dynthor as a faithfull user down the road. Plus Uglak won't take a member that is no longer in our guild and have them join thiers as it would taint our alliance.

I feel Dynthor has some issues that he needs to let go. He needs to relize himself why some people may feel this way about him. My issues with him were this, and I had told him this...

1. Not once when he was in the guild I saw him speak out if anyone needed help. It was always him asking for help. If something didn't pertain to him, he didn't want anything to do with it.

2. Our 2nd time doing the Gulch he didn't want to come and help us. I told people to remember this down the road as the first night he was with us and got his Dragon language and blew us off then.

3. The Heart of Fear incident. I came to watch those guys do the ring event and I saw Dynthor with the LFG tag. After that he was spouting off to Haylen how he just passed him by wich was false cause I was there on the Pyramid watching them to the event. Thus the comment about Nopax in the open guild chat. This also came as a blew off where Haylen ask him if he wanted to join them before hand and he said no he was in a group. Now Haylen didn't say they were doing the Quest, he ask if he wanted to group and Dynthor said no.

4. He took me away from a group I was in with the Stone Dogs working on the Screaming Mace. This was on the FBSS and he was in desperate need to get this quest done. This is the night I made the alliance channel to the SD. In the end I got people from the SD and we got all 4 names that night and finished it. I wasn't pleased on how he went about it to me.

5. The guy just does not listen. When doing the FBSS I had to tell him like 5 times about something. He kept on asking me the same thing and I had to constantly repeat my self.

In the end, he was just pissing me off as I was trying to take Aris, Elch, and Chia down to see Nagy and Phed and Cyco to get their scrolls. Was holding me up with them just going off how he wasn't like this and how he has been helping Methral the last week. But what you been doing with Methral the last week doesn't pertain to what you have done in the pass. I told him he can still team up with his friends, just not as a Tempest member. So he said to me, well your lost and put me on ignore. I told him, no lost..my gain. No point in putting me on Ignore. He was the one who contacted me wanting back in, not I looking for him to come back. He's the one who seeked me out sending me tells, not I seeking him out.

I am sorry, but when I have mutiple people telling me the same thing and he is thinking I am the asshole, there is something wrong with that. I consider my self a well respected person in the EQ community and many Officers and Leaders know who I am. I have no beef with anyone in the game at all, not even Nopax. Nopax came to us, expain his issue, ok no hard feelings and join Monolith and now is happy, but still see him at times with that (LFG). But I still have respect for Nopax and say hi to him and talk once in a while since he talked to us before his departure.

So with my rant, this poll is over. Dynthor won't be comming into the guild and will never join any events we may hold if we need an outsider. You are more than welcome to team up with him if you like, but I don't want any part of him as the guy needs to grow up. If he is so worry about people in the game what they think about him, he should worry more in the real life.

And as always..keep the Drama at home. This is a game, have fun to the best of your ability :)

finally closure. B)

that guy has some issues it seams.

Haylen - May 13, 2005 08:46 PM (GMT)
All,
Personally I don't think Dynthor is a good fit in the guild. Nothing against him but, I don't think we can offer what he is looking for. I have experienced enough and hope that he does well wherever he goes.

Thanks,
Haylen

Very well stated Jemene. I think your talking to him was a very fair second chance and it sounds like you handled it well.
Glad to have you representing our guild.
