I don't know if this is such a good idea to be bringing in all this new stuff this soon, but who knows. Judging by the fact that SOE has 2 teams (one that was working on expansions and one on adventure packs) and no adventure pack has come out for DoF, I'm thinking that this expansion might be made by the devs who do adventure packs. But who knows.

But hey, at least we get lvl 70 and AA's. (Mana burn for Squil!)

I think they learned thier lesson about Mana burn the last time. Dont think you will see a group of wizards taking down a God anymore:)

With all the people that seem to be leaving the game or just going inactive, I think the new expansion pack can not get here soon enough. I wonder how many other people will lose interest in the game before this expansion pack comes out?

my 2 cents.

That is a good point. We've got about a month and a half left. If its anything like the release of DoF, hopefully people will come back. Steamfont really needs more people in it. Though I found it interesting that yesterday we were considered a "medium" in server occupancy.

But with all luck this expansion may keep people from switching over to Vanguard (wishful thinking there).

Agreed.

I know that I am still enjoying the content here at EQ2, but unfortunately it seems that we do not have enough interest or people to tackle the content that I would like to see. I know that everyone pays their own money to play the game and they should do with their own time as they see fit. Sadly though, much of the content I would like to see requires 12 to 24 people and right now, we simply do not have the interest or numbers to tackle it.

Oh well, here is hoping that things pick up really soon.

A post from Moor for those who may be wondering about gear and if any Fable you have will now be useless from T7 Crafted.....

http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/boa...id=57932#M57932

The crafted armor and weapons that can be made from rare harvests in DoF now, to put it simply, are too good. And yes, that fact ended up hurting the expected progression from raid content in the original game to raid stuff in the expansion, because stuff became obsolete too quickly. Going back and nerfing the level 50+ crafted isn't an option anymore, since way too many players have it. So we have rightfully taken some lumps as a result, and many of you are worried that the same thing will happen again.

Although words are just words until you see them in action, hopefully this post will ease some of that concern. Here are the basic goals.

If you're at the level cap and play solo, in small groups, or in full groups, you probably currently wear rare crafted and use some dropped items. You'll be replacing those with the new levels of rare crafted and group drops in KoS, but you won't see the same huge leap in the level 60+ rare crafted that you saw over the level 50 stuff. But you will see the recent trend continue of having group-obtainable dropped items that you actually want to seek out and obtain.

If you plan to raid in KoS, you'll want the fabled gear from DoF to do it. In other words, you will be moving from fabled gear to fabled gear, not from fabled to crafted to fabled. You shouldn't have to replace your gear twice in order to fight the next batch of raid content, and we want the fabled stuff you obtain in DoF to be valuable and prestigious into the next expansion.

It's a balancing act that we didn't handle as well as we should have the first time around, but we've done a lot of planning and behind-the-scenes implementation to do better this time. I think you'll see that pay off going forward.

they had better start slowing things down a bit after this.
